Donald Lutz hit his first home run for the Brisbane Bandits on Friday, when he went deep against leader Canberra Cavalry in the ninth. It was his lone hit of the game, as he went 1-for-5 with the long ball and three strikeouts. Brisbane prevailed 6-4 in the end and moved into a tie for first place with the Cavalry. The Blue Sox defeated Melbourne 5-3 and the Perth Heat downed the Bite 7-2 in the other two matchups. Pitchers Loek van Mil and Jan-Niclas Stoecklin didn’t play on Friday for Adelaide and Sydney.
