Division de Honor Softball Results March 29

The Spanish Division de Honor Softball continued last Sunday with game day two of the new season. Due to the bad weather only two of the three doubleheaders were played, as the matchup between CS VILADECANS and CBS ANTORCHA was postponed.

HERCULES HOSPITALET, which had lost the two opening matches, came back on Sunday to defeat SAN SEBASTIAN 14-5 and 8-0. Catcher Kathleen Lynn Mielke had a triple and homerun in game one, scoring four times and driving in three. Center fielder Alba Gallardo went two-for-two with three walks, two runs scored and three RBI. Starting pitcher Beatriz Parajo dominated in the second part of the twin bill, striking out twelve in six innings, allowing just three hits and two base on balls.

KIROLGI and RIVAS were locked into two slugfests with OBB winning both. Third baseman Ainara Larraza had a total of six hits and six RBI in the two games. Center fielder Patricia Alvarez went five-for-nine with five runs scored and five RBI. Both teams plated runs in 20 of the 28 half innings they came to bat, combining for 44 runs on 42 hits, 22 walks and 19 errors.
