Didier Séminet new President of French Federation, Season to start on April 11

Posted on March 28, 2010 by philipp

Didier Séminet is the new president of the French Baseball and Softball Federation (FFBSC). The former head coach of the Templiers Senart received 147 of 218 votes during the general assembly in Paris on Saturday according to a report on Bafinfos.com.

Before his election Anthony Blanton, Sylvie Becquey, Audrey Chavancy, Stephen Lesfargues, David Meurant and Benjamin Milgron got voted on to the steering committee. Jean Christophe Tiné got appointed as new secretary general. The assembly was necessary after ex-president Denis-Didier Rousseau and other members of the executive board and steering committee resigned at the end of January.

Bafinfos.com also has some other tidbits from the assembly. The French Elite League will start with seven teams on April 11. Paris UC returns after one year in the second division. Defending champion Rouen, Savigny, Senart, Montpellier, Toulouse and Montigny return for the 2010 season as expected. We also already knew that Clermont-Ferrand (relegation) and La Guerche (withdrawal) will not come back.

A first draft of the schedule can be found on the team website of the Rouen Huskies.
