The Deurne Spartans have won the Belgian Baseball Championship. They defeated the Borgerhout Squirrels 4-3 in game four on Saturday to win the best-of-five Belgium Series 3-1. It’s the first title in team history for the Spartans. They won games one, three and four to claim the championship after Borgerhout had won last year and was ranked first after the regular season this season. The Squirrels’ lone win came, when game two was ruled a forfeit after Deurne used an ineligible player.
