The Deurne Spartans are surprisingly leading the Belgium Series 2-1 against the Borgerhout Squirrels. After winning the first match against the regular season winner and defending title holder last Sunday in extra inning, the Spartans won a high-scoring affair on Sunday 15-7. They scored six runs in the sixth and four in the ninth to blow the game wide open. Game two on Saturday most likely will be awarded to the Squirrels. Deurne apparently used an ineligible player and after his first appearance in the game, play was stopped. Games four and five will be played next weekend.
