The Dutch Hoofdklasse club De Glaskoning Twins announced on Saturday that they have signed former Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) player Keiji Uezono for the remainder of the 2016 season. The 31-year-old right-hander is scheduled to arrive on May 12 in the Netherlands.
He was named Central League Rookie of the Year in 2007 and was teammate with current New York Yankees hurler Masahiro Tanaka with the Rakuten Eagles. He also played for the Hanshin Tigers. Last winter he was a member of the Sydney Blue Sox in the Australian Baseball League.
Besides playing for the Twins in the Hoofdklasse he is also going to coach in the Collegiate Baseball League Europe during his time in Oosterhout.
