Two Dutch players, who attended Major League Spring Training this March, were reassigned to Minor League Camp on Wednesday. Outfielder Rogeravin BERNADINA appeared in three games, hitting .250 with a RBI-double. Infielder Yurendell DE CASTER accomplished three at-bats in two games without getting a hit. It is expected that both will start the season in triple A.
BERNADINA is somewhat blocked in the organization, since the trades for Lastings MILLEDGE and Elijah DUKES, who are both will play the outfield for the Nationals this season. Nevertheless the Dutch national is listed as the fastest Baserunner and best defensive outfielder of the Nationals by Baseball America.
Alex SMIT (Reds), Hainley STATIA (Angels), Jair JURRJENS (Braves), Rick VANDEN HURK (Marlins), Wladimir BALENTIEN (Mariners) and obviously Andruw JONES (Dodgers) are still in big league camps.
