The 31-year-old American Daniel Husband is going to coach the German sixth-division club Schwaig Red Lions, located in a village nearby the Munich airport, in the upcoming season. He will be responsible for each team from T ball up to the Bezirksliga squad.
Husband played for the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg the past two years. The champion of 2008 announced earlier this offseason that the first baseman isn’t coming back. In two seasons Baseball-Bundesliga he batted .268 (OBP .344/SLG .491) with six homeruns, 13 runs and 28 RBI in 36 games.
He also has played in the Swedish Elitserien for Tranås and spent a few winters in South Africa. Husband is also going to hold training camps for players from other clubs, pitcher/catcher clinics and individual training sessions according to the website of his new club.
