The second annual Czech Winterleague starts next weekend on Saturday November 27th in Trutnov. After a successful first year, this season’s competition dedicated to the Under-10 category will expand. From November 2010 till the end of March 2011, teams from Prague, Central, Northern and Eastern Bohemia will be divided into two divisions. Each division will organize from two up to three tournaments. The final of the Winterleague 2011 will be during the last weekend in March, again in Trutnov.
Division South consists of teams from Prague, Indians Kladno and Lokomotiva Louny, the winner of the Winterleague 2010 and has already scheduled two of the three tournaments. The first tournament will be organized by Eagles Praha on Saturday, December 11th. Registration for eight teams is already completed, as well as for the second scheduled tournament on January 15th in HAMR Sport center in Praha Zabehlice. This tournament is organized by the Tempo Titans Praha. The last and third tournament will be organized by Lokomotiva Louny. The date in February or March is not yet finalized.
Division North consists of teams from Liberec and Eastern Bohemia. This region has a big baseball history. Unfortunately for ten years baseball in this region almost extinguished. Last year Sparks Mlade Buky, Rytiri Trutnov and Pirates Zacler, together with other teams renewed competition in this region. Klackari Kostelec nad Orlici is the last club which belongs to division North. As it was mentioned above the first tournament of division is scheduled for the upcoming weekend and is already full.
