The Czech Baseball Association and the US sports streaming service For the Fans have signed an agreement to stream three Extraliga matches per week in the US. For the Fans (FTF) is a digital video network offering live and on-demand video content.
“The collaboration of the CBA and FTF enables us to introduce Czech baseball to fans in the US, the home of baseball. It also supports the activity of FTF and their efforts to offer a lot of international content on their channels,” said Tomas Kovala, who represented the CBA in negotiations with FTF.
“We are very happy that we finalized an agreement that would allow us to share Czech baseball on US channels. It will be the first European league there. It is a big motivation to improve our product and increase the number of games this season,” said CBA President Petr Ditrich.
Six Czech Extraliga clubs have signed on to the project thus far: Draci Brno, Eagles Prague, Kotlarka Prague, Nuclears Trebic, Sokol Hluboka and Tempo Prague.
The Extraliga is FTF’s second venture into baseball, with the platform already streaming Nippon Professional Baseball’s Pacific League, which together with the Central League comprises the top level of professional competition in Japan.
