Czech Republic Women’s Softball National Team announced today its roster for the second stage of the USSSA European Pro Series presented by WBSC, to be played in Prague from on 27-28 April. Aiming for Tokyo 2020, the Czech Republic’s roster consists of players who are members of the newly established Olympic-preparation training program.

The USSSA European Pro Series presented by WBSC will see the U.S. pro team USSSA Pride play exhibition games against the National Teams of three European powerhouses: Italy, Czech Republic and Netherlands. The tour will end (Friday, 4 May) in France, where the USSSA Pride will hold a clinic at the Softball Academy of France in Boulouris, Côte d’Azur. The goal of the USSSA European Pro Series presented by WBSC is to promote women’s softball internationally.

“Competing against professionals will be a great challenge,” says Veronika Peckova, ace pitcher of the Czech squad. “It will be an exceptional chance for us to see where we are with our improvement. We’ve stepped up our training program, now we’ll find out how big of a difference has it made.”

USSSA Pride is one of the most successful franchises of the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF), the U.S. pro softball league, winning the Cowles Cup Championship three times (2010, 2013 and 2014). Its roster is actually leaded by the Olympic medalists Kelly Kretschman (Gold 2004, Silver 2008) and Andrea Duran (Silver 2008).
