Czech Republic releases Roster for European Championship

The Czech Republic has released the roster for the upcoming European Championship. 24 players, 11 pitchers, three catchers, six infielders and four outfielders have been nominated by head coach Michael Griffin and his coaching staff.

Most of the players are coming from the Czech Extraleague including Boris Bokaj, Martin Schneider, Petr Minarik, Jakub Toufar, Petr Cech, Jan Drabek, Jakub Hajtmar, Jakub Sladek, Michal Ondracek and Matej Hejma. Three players are also on the team, which are currently under contract with MLB organizations: Marek Minarik, Jan Novak and Martin Cervenka.

The Czech Republic is going to face the Netherlands, Spain, Croatia, Russia and Greece in round one in Ostrava. Prior to the European Championship they will play in the Italian Baseball Week in Veneto, facing Italy and Spain in a three-team tournament.
