CS Viladecans has won the championship in the Spanish Division de Honor Softball with a three-game sweep over the Eguzki OBB in the best-of-five final series. CS succeeds CBS Antorcha as new Spanish champion. Viladecans and Eguzki were tied with 11-5 records after the regular season.

(1-0) CS Viladecans – Eguzki OBB Kirolgi 15-5 (4)

In game one of the final series Viladecans scored 14 runs in the bottom of the fourth to erase a 1-5-deficit en route to a 15-5 victory. Jessica Iborra crossed the plate three times, as all nine in the starting lineup scored at least once. Five players collected two RBI each. Beatriz Parejo received the win, Ane Barandiaran the loss.

(2-0) CS Viladecans – Eguzki OBB Kirolgi 7-4

In the second game Viladecans prevailed 7-4 against Kirolgi. OBB had opened the contest with a three-run homerun by Ainara Larraza (2-3, 4 RBI). But CS answered right away with four runs. After both teams added single runs until the end of the third, two Viladecans insurance runs in the sixth sealed the win. Teresa Sanjuan went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI. Stacy Besancon drove in two. Beatriz Parejo again picked up the win, while Elena Ayuso took the loss.

(0-3) Eguzki OBB Kirolgi – CS Viladecans 2-5

In the decisive third game last Sunday Viladecans scored three runs in the top of the seventh to beat Kirolgi 5-2. A RBI single by Teresa Sanjuan plated the game-winning run. They added two more runs on a bases loaded walk and an error. Eguzki OBB had tied the contest on a RBI single by Aroia Calvo in the fifth. Beatriz Parejo received her third win in the third start with Ane Barandiaran taking the loss.
