CS Viladecans one Win away from defending Spanish Softball Championship

The best-of-five finals in the Spanish Division de Honor Softball started last weekend with defending champion CS Viladecans taking the first two games against PS Gavanenc. In game one Sara Dooley struck out eleven in a pitcher’s duel against Mariah Fike. An error by the shortstop finally decided the outcome in the ninth inning, the third extra frame. Jessica Iborra scored the lone run. Afterwards Viladecans used offense to prevail 10-5 and to take a 2-0 lead in the series. Games three to potentially five will by played in Viladecans next Sunday.
