The final series of the regular season in Croatian baseball featured a pair of sweeps, with the first securing Vindija Varaždin the all-important No. 3 spot in the standings. Its consecutive 20-run outbursts against visiting Medvednica allows the northern club to avoid powerful Olimpija Karlovac in the postseason’s opening round.
Vindija’s reward, however, is to face Nada Split, which racked up the runs against Zagreb and wrapped up the campaign with eight consecutive victories. Already guaranteed a spot in the playoffs, Zagreb will travel to Karlovac for Games One and Two when the playoffs commence on June 26.
