Corendon Kinheim adds, loses two Players for 2011

Posted on October 29, 2010 by philipp

The deadline for transfers within the Dutch Hoofdklasse is coming up and news are coming through thanks to Honkbalsite.com. Corendon Kinheim, which finished in second place after the regular season, but lost in the semi-finals to L&D Amsterdam, can rely mostly on the same roster next year. So far the team of head coach Eelco Jansen has added just two players, infielder Roy Seltenrijch of Neptunus Rotterdam and reliever Pim Walsma from Amsterdam.

They will more or else take over the roster spots for Michiel van Kampen and Tjerk Smeets. The two former national team players are retiring from their active careers. Van Kampen is moving to the United States, while Smeets is going to coach RCH next season and will serve as Marketing Manager for the Dutch Baseball and Softball Association (KNBSB).

Another change in Kinheim will be made at the coaching staff. Former Major Leaguer Ralph Milliard, who like Smeets took part in the special coach course for national team players last winter and worked with the Rookie Team of Mr. Cocker HCAW this past two seasons, is taking over for Marcel Joost as assistant coach.
