After losing the Italian Series in five games against FORTITUDO BOLOGNA, T&A SAN MARINO captured at least the title at the Coppa Italia tournament after sweeping the final series 2-0 against TELEMARKET RIMINI. All three mentioned Italian Baseball League clubs will play in the European Cups next season, BOLOGNA and RIMINI as the Italian representatives, and SAN MARINO for the Republic of San Marino.

In game one of the finals series of the Coppa Italia on Tuesday Luca Martignoni allowed just five hits and a walk in seven scoreless innings to lead SAN MARINO to a 9-0 shutout. His battery mate Simone Albanese homered twice and scored a total of three times. Max De Biase hit a three-run homerun in the fifth to blow things wide open and collected four RBI overall. Chris Di Roma issued twelve hits, six runs and a bb in five innings.

On Wednesday afternoon SAN MARINO overcame a 3-5 deficit in the ninth inning and won the game on a walk-off two-run double by Ardley Jansen. A bases loaded walk by Francesco Imperiali had cut the gap to a single run. Ivanon Coffie (3 RBI) and Leo Serafin de Camargo had put RIMINI ahead with a pair of homeruns. Matteo Tonellato (SMA) allowed six hits, five runs and five bb in 6 1/3 innings. Sandy Patrone (RIM) gave up four hits, two runs and a walk in six innings. Bartoli picked up the win in relief, while Michele Quattrini took the loss.
