CBS Sant Boi, which is currently ranked seventh out of eight teams in the Spanish Division de Honor Baseball stunned the favored teams to claim the title at the Copa del Rey. The league-cup tournament for the top four teams from the previous season was played in Bilbao this weekend.
Sant Boi reached the final by defeating league-leader Tenerife Marlins in the semi-finals 5-3 on Saturday. In the final game on Sunday they prevailed 7-3 over San Inazio Bilbao – currently second in the Division de Honor – to win the title. Bilbao beat the Astros Valencia in the semis.
