Every baseball fan probably knows the Cape Cod League in the United States, a wooden bat summer league for college players. Europe might get something similar. Initiated by the Foundation for Development of Youth Baseball in Southwest Netherlands and based in Oosterhout, the Netherlands, the Collegiate Baseball League Europe (CBLP) is supposed to start with an eight-day, six-game wooden bat competition for European players next summer (July 7 to 14, 2012). There will be four teams. Players, born between 1989 and 1994 can register through a website for a chance to get selected in a draft at the end of March 2012. Several players from around Europe already registered. Check out the official website www.cble.org for more information.
