Former Major League reliever Clay Rapada is going to play for the Philippines in the upcoming World Baseball Classic Qualifier in Sydney, Australia and then will retire according to Jon Morosi from FOX Sports. The 34-year-old appeared in a total of 152 games in the big leagues between 2007 and 2013, going 8-0 with an ERA of 4.06 in 93 innings. The southpaw was mainly used as a left-on-left specialist during his career. He was born in the United States, but his family has roots in the Philippines. Australia, New Zealand and South Africa will be their opponents at the first WBC Qualifier from February 11 to 14 in Sydney.
