T&A San Marino was able to make an agreement with former Major Leaguer Chris Colabello. The 34-year-old is going to play for the Italian Serie A1 club if he is not able to score another professional contract. The first baseman / outfielder split time between the Cleveland Indians and Milwaukee Brewers organizations in 2017. He last played in the big leagues in 2016. Colabello had made a rare jump from independent league baseball to affiliated minor league ball and debuted in the MLB in 2013 with the Minnesota Twins. He would join San Marino in May. Contact to the club was possible through his friendship with new San Marino manager Mario Chiarini. Both played together for Italy in the World Baseball Classic. His father played in Italy in the 1980ies for Rimini.
