CEB sets Sites for 2017 Competitions

The Confederation of European Baseball (CEB) has announced the sites for the 2017 competitions in club and national team baseball. The most important club event of the year will be held in Regensburg with the European Champions Cup. The CEB Cup will take place in Prague/Brno, while the Federations Cup is organized in Valencia.

On the national team level the European Championships B-Pool will be hosted by Belgrade and Miejska Gorka. It was already known that the U12 European Championships takes place in Utrecht, the U15 European Championship in Wiener Neustadt and the U23 European Championship in Brno.

Federations are now asked to subscribe club and national teams for next year’s season with CEB until December 1.

Overview 2017 CEB Competitions:

European Cups 2017

European Champions Cup awarded to Regensburg, Germany
Playing dates: June 7 – 11
Qualified Teams: Italy (2x), Netherlands (2x), Germany (2x), San Marino (1x), France (1x).

CEB Cup awarded to Prague/Brno, Czech Republic
Playing dates: June 6/7 – 10/11
Qualified Teams: Croatia (2x), Czech Republic (2x), France (1x), Switzerland (1x), Ukraine (1x), Belarus (1x).

Federations Cup awarded to Valencia, Spain
Playing dates: June 12/13 – 17/18
Qualified Teams: Belgium (2x), Bulgaria (1x), Spain (1x), Sweden (1x), Austria (1x)

Federations Cup Qualifier
Awarded to Bratislava, Slovakia and Belgrade, Serbia
Playing dates: June 12/13 – 17/18

Qualified Teams:
(At the moment max. 12, 2 groups of 6)
(If more than 12 teams subscribe, an additional organizer will be needed.)
– Runner up of the Federations that have one representative in Champions Cup,
CEB Cup and Federations Cup
– Champions of all other Federations, who are not participating in Champions
Cup, CEB Cup and Federations Cup
– Runner up of the best ranked Federations who are not participating in
Champions Cup, CEB Cup and Federations Cup.

European Championships 2017:

U12 (Juveniles) awarded to Utrecht, Netherlands
Playing dates: July 10 – 16
Open for subscriptions.

U15 (Cadets) awarded to Wiener Neustadt, Austria
Playing dates: July 17 – 23
Qualified teams: Czech Republic, France, Germany, Russia, Austria, Lithuania, Poland. Wild cards for: Netherlands, Italy, Spain
The Tournament is a Qualification tournament for the World Championship 2018.

U18 Qualifier (Juniors) awarded to Zuerich, Switzerland (and Varazdin, Croatia if more than 6 teams subscribe)
Playing dates: July 10 – 16
Open for subscriptions.

U23 awarded to Brno, Czech Republic
Playing dates: August 7 – 13
Open for subscriptions.
The final ranking of this tournament will decide for future division of the teams in A- and B-Pool.
The Tournament is a Qualification tournament for the World Championship 2018.

Seniors B-Pool awarded to Miejska Gorka, Poland and Belgrade, Serbia
Playing dates: July 24 – 30
Qualified teams: Russia, Greece, Slovakia, Austria, Ukraine, Israel, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Switzerland, Belarus, Poland, Serbia
