CBS Sant Boi wins Copa S.M. La Reina

After missing out on another championship in Spanish softball, CBS Sant Boi has at least won the Spanish Cup. They defeated CBS Antorcha 3-0 in the final of the Copa S.M. La Reina in Orio on Sunday to pick up the title, which also secures a spot in next year’s European Cup.

Beatriz Parejo allowed just two hits and a walk in seven scoreless innings to lead Sant Boi to the victory in the Gold Medal Game. She struck out seven. Sant Boi took a 1-0 advantage with a sac fly in the second and added two insurance runs on a pair of RBI singles in the sixth.

Sant Boi had reached the final with wins over Kirolgi OBB and Antorcha on Saturday. Antorcha, which had defeated Atletico San Sebastian in the first game needed a 1-0 nail-biter over Kirolgi on Sunday morning to move on to the Cup final.
