Catalunya Baseball and Softball Week Starts Today

Posted on March 9, 2023March 10, 2023 by MrBB

The Catalunya Baseball and Softball Week starts today, with youth teams from across Europe competing at three sites between Thursday, Mar 9, and Sunday, Mar 12. Baseball will be played across three age levels — U12, U15, and U18 –, with softball contested by only the oldest age group.

The U18 baseball competition consists of the Czech, French, and Swedish national academies, along with the Dutch Diamonds Academy, Great Britain’s London Archers, and the select teams from Catalunya and Aragon.

Eight teams will be competing at the U15 level: the Czech national academy; the Dutch Diamonds Academy; Italy’s Lions Nettuno and Torre Pedrera Falcons; the select teams from the hosts Catalunya and Navarra; Germany’s Stuttgart Reds; and the London Archers.

The U12 field consists of familiar names, with the notable exception of the Lyngby Jokers of Copenhagen, Denmark. They will be competing against the Lions Nettuno, the Diamonds Academy, and the Czech Baseball Academy in Pool A, with the German Baseball Academy (DBA), the London Archers, and the teams from Catalunya and Navarra playing in Pool B.
