UGF Fortitudo Bologna

The 24-year-old Italian-American Mark Castellitto is joining UGF Fortitudo Bologna for the upcoming season. The outfielder will be assigned to the IBL2 team in Castenaso, but also could play a role in the Italian Baseball League and in the European Cup this year. He is from San Diego and attended Gonzaga University (NCAA Division I) in the past five years, graduating in 2010. In 192 games he batted .298/.357/.505 with 29 homeruns, 133 runs and 139 RBI.

Reggio Emilia

The 33-year-old left-handed reliever Mattia Salsi is leaving the Italian Baseball League to join the Serie A club Reggio Emilia in the Italian Federal Championship. In 2010 he pitched for T&A San Marino, going 1-1 with five saves and an ERA of 2.31 in 14 appearances. He struck out 16 in 23 1/3 innings, walking nine. He already played for Reggio Emilia, when the team was in the Serie A in 2003. He also wore the jersey of Parma and Modena at the top level in Italian Baseball since making his debut in 1997.
