Reigning Italian Baseball League champion Cariparma Parma is promoting pitcher Francesco Corsaro from Junior Parma into the IBL team to use him in relief. In 2010 he had a 4-4 record with an ERA of 3.36 in 14 appearances (twelve starts) in the newly formed IBL2. He struck out 41 batters in 69 2/3 innings, walking 33. He also already had his cup of coffee in the IBL1, allowing one hit and five walks in 5 1/3 scoreless innings for Cariparma last year.
