Cariparma meets UGF Bologna in Italian Baseball League

Jesus Matos hopes for Win Number five this seasonWith a meeting between the two teams in second and third, the Italian Baseball League continues on Thursday, as Cariparma hosts UGF Bologna at the Nuovo Europeo Cavalli in Parma. They are tied with 11-5 records and will send foreign starters Jesus Matos (BOL, 4-1, ERA 1.36) and Gustavo Martinez (PAR, 3-2, ERA 2.86) to the mound. Looking at run production these teams are leading the league with 95 (PAR), respective 88 runs (BOL).

On Friday the other six teams in the IBL also will return to the field. Telemarket Rimini will travel to Sicily to take on the Catania Warriors. Montepaschi Grosseto and T&A San Marino will play one game in Macerata and two in San Marino. The De Angelis Godo Knights host Danesi Nettuno, which already needs a sweep or their playoff hopes could end early this year.
