Japan scored in five of the first six innings en route to a 10-1 win against Netherlands Antilles and concluded the Baseball World Cup 2009 with a 2-5 record in round two and the elimination. Motoki Higa (W 2-0) struck out ten in five innings, allowing two hits, a run and a walk. Ikuhiro Kiyota and Kenichi Yokoyama homered and combined for five RBI. Simon Pantoflet (L 1-1) surrendered nine hits, ten runs (8 ER) and five bb in five-plus innings.
