Mexico picked up its second win in the second round with a 9-8 nail biter against Netherlands Antilles. They needed to overcome an early 0-6 deficit and took the lead with a five-run rally in the sixth. The Caribbeans tried to come back in the seventh, but only managed to cut the deficit to a run.
Edgar Quintero hit a solo homerun and scored twice. Cristian Presichi, Jesus Cota and Abel Martinez collected two RBI apiece. Eight Mexican players crossed the plate for runs. Lorvin Louisa and Ulrich Snijders homered for the Netherlands Antilles. For Snijders the grand slam was a special one, as he played on his usual home field in San Marino.
Johannes Gregorius Jr. (AHO, also T&A San Marino) gave up five hits, four runs and five bb in 4 2/3 innings. Francisco Cordoba (MEX) issued two hits, six runs (1 ER) and two walks in only 1 2/3 innings. Hugo Castellanos picked up the win. Orsendo Clemencia took the loss.
