Adam Loewen and Cole Armstrong drove in two Canadian runs in the bottom of the sixth, leading their team to a 5-3 win over Taiwan, which was cut short due to rain in the seventh. With the victory Canada moved past Sunday’s opponent into third place in Pool G. The maple leafs had tied the game one frame earlier on RBIs by Armstrong and Shawn Bowman. Rene Tosoni hit a solo homerun. Taiwan had taken the lead in the top of the fifth on a solo homerun by Tai-Yung Kuo and a RBI double by Chung-Chun Wu. Taiwan will advance as the lone Asian team to the third round.
