BWCF Amsterdam: Puerto Rico crushes Spain in Rematch

Just a few days after playing against each other in round one, Puerto Rico and Spain met again in Pool F in Amsterdam. The Puerto Ricans scored nine runs in the first two frames en route to an easy 12-2 (7) victory. Quit the difference to the 5-3 thriller during the preliminary phase.

Jose Valentin hit a homerun for Puerto Rico. Carlos Rivera drove in three, Alex Cintron and Angel Sanchez each two. Luis Perez accounted for both Spanish runs with a homer in the third. Luis Atilano (W 1-0) allowed four hits, two runs and two bb in five innings. Yoel Hernandez (L 0-1) gave up three hits, two runs and two walks in just one third of an inning. He only threw 15 of his 30 pitches for strikes.
