The Dutch National Team remains en course towards the Gold Medal Game at the 2011 IBAF Baseball World Cup in Panama. On Thursday afternoon they prevailed in the completion of the suspended game from Wednesday, which was stopped because of rain in the top of the seventh inning. When play resumed the team of head coach Brian Farley acted quickly and Curt Smith scored the decisive run in the bottom half of the seventh frame. Both teams had exchanged in the second inning, but otherwise starters Dushan Ruzic for Australia and Shairon Martis for the Netherlands had dominated. For the Netherlands the contest was just a prelude to their clash with Cuba in the evening.
