Bundesliga Round-Up: February

Posted on March 4, 2021March 14, 2021 by MrBB

February was a slow month in the German Bundesliga. With the coronavirus pandemic raising leading to continued uncertainty about the 2021 season, the 16 first-division German clubs were slow to announce new additions. Tübingen bucked the trend, however, adding the young Czech all-rounder Kamil Pejchal.

As Milujeme Baseball reported, the Hawks signed the Trebic, Czech Republic native Kamil Pejchal. The 24-year-old has experience across the diamond but has concentrated on working behind the plate the past few seasons. Pejchal, who swings from the left side, has matured into a solid Extraliga player with his hometown Trebic Nuclears, collecting 40 hits and a .280 batting average, along with a .380 on-base percentage, over 41 games the past two seasons. While 2021 will be Pejchal’s first season in the Bundesliga, he will see a familiar face when the Hawks match up against Regensburg as Legionäre outfielder (and former Pecos League two-way player) Devon Ramírez was a teammate of Pejchal’s with the Carine Cats during the 2019/20 Western Australia State League 1 season.

The Bundesliga is scheduled to kick off the 2021 season on Apr. 3.
