The Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg have signed 23-year-old US-American left-hander Bill Greenfield for the 2018 season in the German Baseball-Bundesliga. He is supposed to fill the role of foreign starter in game two each week. However he has submitted an application for an Irish passport and would be eligible as EU player. He is coming from the Furman University (NCAA Division I), which he attended the last four years.
Greenfield joins a pitching staff together with Mike Bolsenbroek, Jonathan Eisenhuth, Daniel Mendelsohn, Philipp Meyer and Michael Woehrl. Kevin Vance and Eric Faint don’t return. Greenfield is arriving in Europe in mid March.
