The Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg have added another pitcher to their staff for the reminder of the 2012 season. Right in time for the European Cup in Rotterdam, the defending German champion has brought in right-hander Harry Glynne. The 21-year-old is coming from the Central Connecticut State University. He has a German passport, as his mother is coming from Bavaria. He played for the German U21 National Team at the European Championship in 2008.
Glynne made his Buchbinder Legionaere debut at the Buchbinder Cup on Monday, pitching seven innings in the final against the Bonn Capitals. He will be available in the MLB amateur draft next week. Barring a selection he will stay with Regensburg until the end of the season and is also going to be a candidate to play for Germany in the European Championship. At the European Cup in Rotterdam this week he is one of three set starting pitchers besides Mike Bolsenbroek and Justin Kuehn.
