The Brut Australian Baseball League is starting on Thursday into the 2018/2019 season. After the addition of Geelong-Korea and Auckland Tuatara two new teams will compete for the Claxton Shield besides the Brisbane Bandits, Adelaide Bite, Melbourne Aces, Perth Heat, Sydney Blue Sox and Canberra Cavalry.
On Tuesday the 30-man rosters for the eight teams were revealed. European Baseball is represented with German players Donald Lutz (Brisbane) and Markus Solbach (Adelaide), Dutch players Loek van Mil (Brisbane)and Dwayne Kemp (Sydney) and Italian pitcher Alessandro Maestri (Sydney). Additionally a couple of players, which have spent the summer in Europe, are also suiting up in the ABL.
“Brut” became the first naming rights partner in the history of the league, as number one toiletry brand in Australia. A minimum of 81 games of the regular season will be broadcasted live through various channels.
