The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has published the schedule for the Baseball Champions League (BCL) Europe Final Four [link], which is scheduled for 26–27 September in Brno, Czech Republic. The BCL Europe playoffs will feature Curacao Neptunus, Draci Brno, Parma 1949, and Tenerife Marlins, representing the national leagues of the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Italy, and Spain, respectively.
The semifinals will be contested on 26 September Serie A club Parma Baseball squaring off against Tenerife Marlins of the Spanish Baseball League’s División de Honor. The nightcap see the hosts, Draci Brno, represent Baseball Czechia’ Extraliga against Curaçao Neptunus Dutch Hoofdklasse. The Championship game follows the third-place contest a day later.
The BCL Europe, which is celebrating its inaugural season in 2026, started in May with Group Stages in Regensburg, Germany [link] and Rotterdam, Netherlands [link]. At these tournaments, 1949 Parma Baseball Club and Curacao Neptunus emerged as winners of their respective group play, while Draci Brno and Tenerife Marlins finished second in each pool to advance to the Final Four. The league replaces the Champions Cup, Baseball Europe’s top club competition, which ran from 1963–2023 [link].
The first edition of the BCL Europe follows the launch of the BCL in 2023 as a ‘new concept for baseball,’ as explained by WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari. ‘It’s an international tournament of champions with teams around the world representing their club, their city and their fans on the world stage.‘
The first BCL Americas in September 2023 [link] was won by the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (U.S.A.), – served as a model for what the WBSC planned for other continents and leagues in the future as part of a global Baseball Champions League. A six-team BCL Americas took place in 2025 [link], won by Diablos Rojos (Mexico City), while in March this year, the Mexican Baseball League hosted this year’s BCL at the Alfredo Harp Helù Stadium in Mexico City [link]. It featured four teams from the Americas and CTBC Brothers from Taiwan, and was won by Kane County Cougars (U.S.A.).
