Press Release — Project COBB and the British Baseball Hall of Fame.
What an historic year that 2025 has already been, with the Great Britain Women’s and Under-23 National Teams each winning a European title and qualifying for their World Cups! As we look forward to the finals of various British Baseball leagues and the Men’s European Championship, we also turn to the nomination process for the British Baseball Hall of Fame (BBHOF).
In 2024, we saw four people elected, with two of the inductees—Rob Alger and Nick Clark—co-nominated by members of the British baseball community. We have never had anyone nominated that represents Northern Ireland, the North East, the City of Manchester, East Anglia, or the South West, and we would love to see that change.
There are three categories for induction: Baseball players; Coaches, managers, umpires, and other officials; and Game builders. More information on these categories and the criteria by which candidates are considered can be found by clicking on ‘Induction categories and criteria’ at https://bbhof.org.uk.
Anyone who puts in tireless work to organise your club, keeps your field in your great shape, teaches youth how to play, or demonstrates long-term excellence on the field could make a great candidate. All it takes to nominate the person you have in mind is a short bio outlining their accomplishments, including as many details, statistics, or quotes as you can. Project COBB has information on numerous people, statistics for many seasons, and much more to help you with the specifics at: http://projectcobb.org.uk/top-tier_stats.html.
If you are not sure where to start or have some questions, please do get at contact to info@bbhof.org.uk. In addition, if you know of printed materials or physical objects that might be of interest to the British Baseball Hall of Fame, whether yourself, a club, or someone formerly involved in the sport, we are actively gathering and preserving these important materials, and cannot do so effectively without your help! No items are too small or insignificant, large or unusual, or too voluminous to be of interest.
Please email nominations—preferably by in Word Document or Google Doc—by 3 Nov. (extended from 13 Oct.).
