B-Pool European Championship Trnava: Switzerland, Lithuania, Slovakia and Ukraine reach Semifinals

At the B-Pool European Championship in Trnava and Bratislava, Slovakia the teams from Switzerland, Lithuania, Slovakia and Ukraine will play the semi-finals on Friday. Switzerland came back from a 3-10 deficit to beat Poland 11-10. Ukraine shut out Finland 14-0. Switzerland finished in first place in Group A, followed by Ukraine. In Group B Lithuania used a pair of seven-run innings to hold off Slovakia 19-15. Belarus shut out Romania 1-0. The TQB needed to be used to solve the three-way tie between Slovakia, Belarus and Lithuania with Slovakia and Lithuania advancing to the semi-finals.

The winner of the B-Pool European Championship in Trnava faces the winner of the B-Pool European Championship in Blagoevgrad in a playoff series at the end of the month, looking to qualify for the European Championship in September.
