Israel won a thriller against Russia 13-12 in ten innings on Thursday at the B-Pool European Championship in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria. Both teams were tied 8-8 after nine innings. Russia scored four runs in the top of the tenth, but couldn’t hold on to the lead, as Israel answered with five runs. Israel improved to 4-0, while Russia dropped to 3-1. Israel is already set for the final. Russia can join them with a win over Serbia on Friday.
Also on Thursday Greece shut out Ireland 3-0 for their third win in the tournament. Serbia beat host Bulgaria 3-2. Serbia is also 2-2, while Bulgaria is still winless.
