20-year-old Dutch shortstop Xander Bogaerts, who won the 2011 IBAF Baseball World Cup with the Netherlands, got promoted to Triple-A by the Boston Red Sox. After batting .311/.407/.502 with six home runs, six triples, 12 doubles, 40 runs and 35 RBI in 56 games for Portland in the Double-A Eastern League, the American League organization called him up to the Pawtucket Red Sox in the International League at the end of last week. He already belted his first home run, going deep on Friday in a game versus Buffalo.
