In mid-May a book about the history of the Mannheim Tornados will be published. It is called “Mannheim Tornados – A Baseball Success Story” and will be available in German for €19.75 in all book stores in Germany.
The book, which has been written by current Tornados president Peter Engelhardt, starts with the first years of baseball in Mannheim in the 1950ies and 1960ies. Overall however it will be a review of 40 years Mannheim Tornados since they were founded in 1975.
Interesting interviews and rare pictures will be included as well as a 30-page chapter about the history of the German Baseball-Bundesliga. The Tornados have won 11 German championships and have been the record title holder.
