Lithuania – Slovakia 3-11
Slovakia got its first win at the B-Level European Championship, defeating Lithuania 11-3. Both teams are 1-3 in the tournament. Catcher Martin Bosy had a career day at the plate, going 4-for-6 with a home run, a triple, two runs scored and six RBI. Jan Jablonka had four hits, two runs and two RBI. Marek Cerveny pitched 7 2/3 innings to earn the win. Marijus Dargis took the loss.
Ireland – Belarus 3-7
Belarus improved to 3-1 in the B-Level Euros with a 7-3 win over Ireland. For the Irish it was the fourth loss in the fourth game. Two runs apiece in the second, third and fourth sealed the deal for Belarus. Aliaksandr Sladzinski drove in two. Aliaksandr Huryn scored twice, Anthony Ferrato picked up two RBI for Ireland. Andrei Los surrendered eight hits, three runs and three walks in nine innings. Tom Enright suffered his second loss of the tournament, allowing eight hits, seven runs (3 ER) and three bb in five innings.
Russia – Austria 6-4
Russia defeated Austria 6-4 to win the duel of previously undefeated teams. Russia scored five of its six runs in the first two innings. Austria tried to put a comeback together, but only managed two runs each in the third and the seventh. Viacheslav Vasilyev had three more hits and two RBI to work on his MVP campaign. Nikita Monakhov and Maxim Ayzatulin scored twice. Felix Zimmerle and Ferdinand Obed (home run) drove in all four runs for Austria. Denis Leonov conceded seven hits, four runs and three walks in 6 1/3 innings to receive the win. Paul Astl lasted just 1 2/3 innings, issuing three hits, five runs (4 ER) and three walks to take the loss.
