Benjamin Kleiner, player-coach with the Berlin Sluggers and former German champion with the Paderborn Untouchables, spent the last week at Butler University in Indiana as part of the exchange program of the European Baseball Coaches Association (EBCA). Invited by head coach Steve Farley he attended the daily work-outs and a few games. He even got a story in the college paper. Check out also the EBCA Exchange Program blog for his journal including videos and some pictures.
Meanwhile the second coach, Bertrand Rue from Mulhouse, France, arrived in the United States to pick up the brains of coaches Al Budding and Pete Caliendo. He is going to stay in the Chicago area until March 17. The third coach Pietro Sollecito from London, is going to be hosted by John Vodenlich of the University of Wisconsin Whitewater next week. He will join their team on a trip to Florida. The EBCA is planning to extend the program over the next few years.
