Bench Coach Brian Farley leaves Dutch Staff in Taichung for personal reasons

Posted on February 24, 2013February 24, 2013 by philipp

Bench coach Brian Farley, who was replaced as manager for the 2013 World Baseball Classic by San Francisco Giants hitting coach Hensley Meulens, has left the Dutch delegation due to personal reasons (not baseball related). The Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association (KNBSB) announced this on Saturday. Technical director and former head coach Robert Eenhoorn will take over for Farley and also will for the upcoming tournament. Eenhoorn already was in the dugout for Saturday’s loss to an all-star team of the Taichung University. Farley had been the head coach for the Dutch national team during the 2011 and 2012 seasons. At the 2011 IBAF Baseball World Cup in Panama he led the Netherlands to the world championship – their first world title ever.
