The Heidenheim Heidekoepfe have swept the Tubingen Hawks in a make-up doubleheader on Monday. The team of head coach Mike Hartley prevailed 8-2 in game one, sparked by seven strong innings of Johannes Krumm and a two-run home run by Simon Guehring. Thomas De Wolf, who will transfer to a Dutch club, took the loss in his last start for the Hawks.
In the second game Heidenheim scored three runs in the last two innings to break a 2-2 tie in a 5-2 victory. Jay Pecci and James Kang combined for five hits and two runs, while Jack Frawley went the distance. Joshua Hodges was charged with the loss. Already on Saturday Paderborn had crushed Berlin twice in the only other action in the German Baseball-Bundesliga this past weekend.
