Baseball Softball UK plans College Softball League in North London

BSUK coaches are currently delivering softball sessions to students at three colleges in the London boroughs of Harrow and Brent as a prelude to forming the Brent & Harrow Further Education Softball League, based at Northwick Park.

The programme is part of BSUK’s efforts to target the further education sector in London and the Brent/Harrow area was selected to take advantage of the batting cages and other facilities at Northwick Park.

Foundation Session

The colleges involved are Harrow College, College of North West London, and Stanmore College, and foundation training in softball was delivered to participants from all three colleges on January 15 by BSUK’s South East Regional Coach Stan Doney.

Two introductory training sessions to give the students an understanding of softball will be followed by a four-week competition at Northwick Park, where two teams will compete while the other team will get an opportunity to use the batting cages.

Providing students with this opportunity to learn and play softball will hopefully enable new teams to be set up on a permanent basis in the area.
