BaseballSoftballUK unveiled its new Hit the Pitch development programme to partners and stakeholders at an event hosted in the BSUK offices on Monday evening in Central London.
The event was attended by around 40 people representing organisations such as Sport England, British Universities and Colleges Sports, The County Sports Partnership Network, the baseball and softball federations and existing clubs and leagues. They heard BSUK set out plans to significantly increase the numbers of participants in baseball and softball, with the new Hit the Pitch programme central to this ambition.
Introducing the programme, BSUK Joint CEO and Head of Development John Boyd said: “This room is filled with people who are important to us, and this announcement is at the heart of what we do. We started with 10,000 players back in 2009, and by 2017 we hope to have tripled participation in our sports.”
