This coming weekend the German Baseball and Softball Federation (DBV) in cooperation with the International Sports Group (ISG), the European Softball Federation (ESF) and its European Softball Coaches Association (ESCA), the German Baseball Academy (DBA) and the Untouchables Paderborn is hosting their annual DBV Convention 2018 at the unique facility of the Ahorn-Sportpark in Paderborn, Germany.
Besides training courses for umpires and scorekeepers, baseball and softball clinics highlight the program of the DBV Convention. The baseball clinic, which takes place from Friday to Sunday, features ISG speakers Tom O’Connell, Ernie Young and Ryan Harrison, 2011 Baseball World Cup winner Brian Farley, Martin Brunner, Stefan Mueller, Georg Bull, Matt Kemp, Alper Bozkurt, Tom Gillespie and Philipp Howard as speakers.
Additionally Major League Baseball for the first time in Paderborn is hosting a strength and conditioning workshop for trainers and coaches from the European MLB Academies with speakers Jeff Krushell, Steve Baumann and Stefan Mueller parallel to the baseball clinic in Paderborn on Saturday, which is open also to other trainers and coaches.
The softball clinic, which is organized with the help from ESF and ESCA, features Craig Montvidas, Saskia Kosterink, Judith van den Berg, Florian Lautenschlaeger and Carsten Dick as speakers. The softball clinic is set for Saturday and Sunday.
More than 300 participants are expected to travel to Paderborn for the DBV Convention including more then 150 baseball and softball coaches to attend the clinics. For the clinics a registration is still possible on site. Costs of 145 € (baseball clinic) and 120 € (softball clinic) include meals on Friday (dinner), Saturday (lunch, dinner) and Sunday (lunch).
