Posted on August 8, 2007April 9, 2021 by MrBB

The Rouen Huskies qualified for their third straight French Baseball League finals with a 6-4 win over the Montpellier Barracudas in Game 4 of their semi-final playoff matchup. The Huskies will meet the Senart Templiers which ousted Savigny/Orge.

In a hard-fought battle, Rouen scored twice in the seventh inning to break a 4-4 tie and Keino PEREZ shut the door on Montpellier’s season with a superb relief appearance.

Kenji HAGIWARA led the Huskies in the series hitting .667 (12-for-18) with six walks, four doubles, and 11 runs scored. Dany SCALABRINI was 7-for-15 (.467) with three doubles for Rouen which hit .323 against the Barracudas.

Nicolas DUBAUT posted two wins with 14 strikeouts in 16 innings to lead the defending champions to their fourth finals in the past five years. Anthony CROS was 6-for-10 (.600) with five walks for Montpellier.

The Huskies took two games from the Templiers on the final weekend of the regular season, 13-3 and 11-7, and will be the favorites to win their second consecutive French Baseball League title.
